I have always considered my input on film to be enlightening and informative. I love the movies! I have always loved movies, but have only in the past 10 years found myself engulfed in them.(I found myself getting bored with the format I laid out when I began this BLOG. I didn't want this to seem like a chore either... It's supposed to be fun! Therefore, I'm not going to limit myself to only AFI movies... I had to sHake things up a bit!)

95. The Last Picture Show (1971)
Still trying to figure out what is so special about this film that it made the AFI's top 100. Great cast, and the fact that it was done in B&W was cool, but that's it!! The acting didn't even stand-out. BORING! I realize this is another negative review, but I am so looking forward to all of the movies on the list... this one just plain sucks! This film made my list of "movies that i do not recommend!" I'll give up 1 egg for the cast!

96. Do the Right Thing
It is so easy to spot a Spike Lee film... Just look for the racism! Although Mr. Lee is a talented film-maker, very well rounded in all aspects... I have a hard time enjoying his work at all, considering I watched this movie 2 weeks ago, and this is all I can come up with as far as an opinion. Not worth my time. No eggs for you Spike!

97. BLADE RUNNER
Hmmm..... not at all what I expected, which was disappointing. A futuristic journey into the world of AI... (artificial intelligence) Deckard (Harrison Ford), a bounty hunter, specializing in the extermination (retiring) of androids (replicants) comes out of retirement for a final mission.. His most difficult one yet. Directed by Ridley Scott, one of my personal favorites I might add.. and a surprising, but stellar performance by Rutger Hauer and Daryl Hannah is what made this movie easier to swallow. I found it slow moving, I was somewhat bored. I'm not saying it was a bad film, it's just not my thing. It made the top 100, so I assume some people love it... 3 eggs, that's all I can do for this one. "see you at the movies!"

98. Yankee Doodle Dandy
One thing is for sure... I will never judge a movie by it's cover again! This brought a tear to my eyes. I'm sad to say that I would have no idea who George M. Cohan (Mr. Broadway) was before watching this on-screen biography. It was also my first James Cagney film, who I might add was brilliant. Cagney's acting, singing, and dancing was an amazing tribute to a real American patriot and entertainer. Songs like "Over There" and "Give My Regards to Broadway" are just a couple that G.M. Cohan gave to us. Very entertaining with tons of song and dance. This one gets a DOZEN... easily!! ))eNjoy ((

#99 TOY STORY
I forgot how entertaining this movie actually is... Great storytelling, with possibly a message behind all of the bells and whistles of Buzz Lightyear. The description of this movie with two toys Cowboy Woody (Tom Hanks) and space ranger Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) fighting for the first place love of their owner, doesn't really do it justice. Maybe, two strangers from different cultures, putting their differences aside.. bonding like brothers, all for the love of another. A must see! Great for the whole family! Toy Story paved the way for computer-animated film, which John Lasseter won an OSCAR. I give this one... 10 farm fresh eggs! enjoy!

100. Ben-Hur 1959
I have begun my epic journey through AFI's top 100 films, with an "epic" for it's time... BEN-HUR. I say for "it's time" only because it is 51 yrs old. I remember watching it for the first time when I was about 12 yrs of age with my Grandmother Malloy, her favorite I might add. I am glad I chose to watch it again, because the only part I ever recalled was the chariot race.. which was before "special effects". long movie? yes, but considering this 3h 22min movie only covered 5 to 7 years of Judah Ben-Hur's life, it was well worth my time. I wanted this to be "MY" own opinion, and was hoping it would be different than everyone else's critique... but it's not much different, Ben-Hur is a classic film! A well told story with mediocre acting.Out of 12 farm fresh eggs... I give it a half dozen. Enjoy!
